The Longest Way

The Longest Way is by far the amateur video that I have (for now) been most impressed by! And if you do not already know it, you’ll quickly understand why it’s so impressive.

This video is quite old, so there is a very high chance that you’ve already seen it, particularly because it was ranked #8 by Time.com in their viral video poll. But if you don’t know it already, then I am proud that you’ve discovered it through me (well, if you like, of course).

Here’s the background story: Christoph Rehage is a German man who liked walking. He had studied in China and decided to go from Peking… no… Beijing (one day, I’d like to learn who first had the idea to translate city names!!) to Germany on foot. He made this decision on his birthday November 9, 2007.

A crazy project – a means for him to research himself, though not a quest. The short path ended October 25, 2008 after 4646.1 km, without having reached Germany, but right after he had reached his goal.
