“Hello World” by Google

I didn’t know where exactly to place this video: travel? geek? It’s a little bit of both… But because of its technical aspect of the maps Google has released, I decided to classify it under “Geek”. And so, finally, here’s the geeky video called “Hello World”.

As you know very well, Google has invested immensely in their online mapping services, and even though it has stiff competition in Microsoft’s “Bing Maps” and the super open-source project “OpenStreet Maps”, “GoogleMaps” is still the forerunner of free world maps.

But do you know all the services presented in the video?

• Google Maps (offering 3D textures or angles of buildings, amongst other things)
• Google Streetview (with an impressive coverage map)
• Google Earth (to see the moon too)
• Google Maps for Android (with Indoor Maps and Navigation amongst others)
• Google Art Project ?

This beautiful list gives Google one step ahead of its competition… but for how long?
