An amazing item has become available on the Evaneos site, which I have discovered today thanks to LIDD (Links Idiots From Sunday) of PCInpact.
The website shows the work done by Peter Menzel and Faith D’Aluisio for their book Hungry Planet. To gather the information, Peter and Faith visited 30 families in 24 countries and asked to assess their food costs for a week of regular meals.
The result is amazing – both the impact of photographs and the weight of numbers!
Be aware when comparing weekly expenditure in the following countries:
Yes, you read correctly; A German family spends 406 times more than a family from Chad, which means that for the cost of one month of food in Germany, a family from Chad could eat for almost 34 years!! Incredible!
You will find an interesting PDF here with a table of statistics and you will find the book on amazon.com
