[April Fools] The Geek World Tour Will Stop In The United States

Well, it was a difficult decision: to continue or to stay and take advantage of the opportunities I’ve been given in North America.

I’ve finally decided: I Quit!

I will stop my “World Tour” in 6 months. I’m still going to tour the USA as planned, but I will not go any further. I haven’t yet decided to stay in the US or Canada, but I’ll figure that out in the next 6 months.

I’ve been dreaming, hoping, and waiting to start this World Tour for years. 1 and 1/2 months ago, I started it. But I’ve come to the conclusion that traveling the world is pointless when I’ve found happiness right where I am.
In Canada, I discovered some lovely people, a sweetness of life, and many opportunites.
In the United States, I’ve discovered true freedom and am overwhelmed by the feeling that anything is possible.

Of course, not everything is perfect; for example, cheese is expensive, but that’s a small detail.
The greater problem is which country will allow me to have a work visa more easily: Canada or the U.S.?

I’ve started the process in both countries. This will leave me more free to choose what’s best for my future.

So, I invite you all to continue to follow my journey for the next 6 months. The site will be replaced by another better suited to my life here.
I can’t wait.

[UPDATE:] Stop now?! Are you crazy?!!! It was obviously an April Fools joke!

There were 3 types of reactions: 

• Those who didn’t see it coming: With really nice reactions and wishes for the best of luck. Thank you!
• Those who recognized the joke immediately: Bravo! You knew I’ve been enjoying myself too much to stop so suddenly.
• Those who didn’t want to believe: Could I really be serious?

I had not planned to do an April Fool’s prank, but the idea came to me quickly. I was torn between the idea of a believable statement or an absolutely ridiculous joke. It was impossible to mix the two, so I chose the believable option.

That said, it is true that there is a real sense of freedom here in the United States: I can choose from 18 fast-food chains (as opposed to only 2 in France) and even eat there at 4am. This is true freedom!

So, no, I won’t stop traveling. At least not yet. I’ll take some more time… or a lot!!!
